Capstone Homes at Serenbe Receive National Attention in Cottage Living & Wall Street Journal
Serenbe Tops Cottage Living’s List of “Top 10 Communities in the Nation”
with Capstone Cottages on the Cover; New Capstone Product is
Introduced at Serenbe

When people visit Serenbe, they often are drawn to the architectural diversity in the community.  Serenbe’s founders planned it this way—having original homes of varying styles gives Serenbe a more authentic, visually pleasing aesthetic.  And there’s something for most tastes, whether it’s traditional, rustic, classically elegant, or modern.  Recently, the Wall Street Journal and Cottage Living were charmed by the white picket fences and cottages in Serenbe’s Crossroads.  Two cottages grace the cover of Cottage Living’s July/August issue, in which Serenbe tops the magazine’s list of “Top 10 Communities in the Nation.” The WSJ also ran a photo of the Crossroads in a recent story on how folks are gravitating towards communities with historic appeal.  Capstone Partners built these featured homes, and they are classic examples of the boutique company’s passion for architecturally significant and thoughtfully designed properties.

Like Serenbe, Capstone focuses on sustainability and quality of life.  Their guiding philosophy is to create homes that stand the test of time with long-term economic and aesthetic value, and home plans are carefully chosen with modern day lifestyles in mind. Every home is distinctive with its own charm and appeal, with carefully selected fixtures and finishes to complement the historic style of the home, and even exterior colors are chosen to enhance the existing streetscape. Being a boutique company allows Capstone to engage with local artists to create many of the special details of their homes, such as custom hearths and mantles. And as with all homes in Serenbe, all of Capstone’s homes in Serenbe are Earth Craft Certified (read more about Earth Craft homes below).

The newest Capstone product at Serenbe are the Grange Townhomes.  Nestled among preserved forestland in Serenbe’s second hamlet, these townhomes are neighbors to the Serenbe Organic Farms and a 6-acre lake, with the gorgeous Serenbe Stables as a backdrop.  At completion, Grange homeowners will be a stone’s throw from a barbeque restaurant, farm store, feed and seed shop, and small shops for artisans and craftspeople.  And, they are a short and peaceful walk through a wooded trail to Selborne, Serenbe’s first community and home to The Hil, Blue Eyed Daisy Bakeshop, and several shops and galleries.  Scroll down to see the front elevation, floor plans and features for Capstone’s Grange Townhomes.   Call Serenbe Real Estate to schedule a tour for a sneak peek at this new product, now under construction (770.463.9997).

What is an EarthCraft House Certified Home?

The EarthCraft House Program is a voluntary green building program that serves as a blueprint for healthy, comfortable homes that reduce energy costs and protect the environment. Each home is independently tested by a third-party to verify it meets the standards to be certified as an EarthCraft House. For a home to be certified as EarthCraft, the builder must submit a worksheet, follow a point system and allow inspection for EarthCraft certification once the building is complete.

An EarthCraft certified home looks like any other home with all the features and amenities you desire. Following the guidelines of the EarthCraft House Program, these money-saving, environmentally-friendly elements are built into the home.

The value to you as a homeowner is in the performance as an
EarthCraft House certified home will–

  • Require less maintenance
  • Reduce operating costs
  • Lower your total cost of home ownership
  • Increase the value of your investment
  • Provide a more quiet and comfortable home
  • Promote and enable a healthier living environment
